MATSAPHA: The Central Bank of Eswatini donated E316 000 worth of bedding that will assist the Ministry Of Health in fighting the Coronavirus pandemic.
Governor Majozi Sithole, when announcing the donation at the bank's offices in Matsapha, said as a bank they were honoured to partner with the Ministry of Health in fighting and alleviating the impact of COVID 19.
"The efforts of government in setting up an isolation facility at Mavuso Trade Centre are noted and commended. This signals government's commitment towards fighting this scourge. In that regard the bank has deemed it necessary to support government\'s efforts by providing 250 blankets, 250 bed covers , 250 bed sheets , 250 pillows and 250 pillow cases at the tune of E 316 000\" said the Central Bank Governor.
The donation was received by Dr Simon Zwane, the Ministry of Health's Principal Secretary. Zwane thanked the bank for the kind gesture and noted that the bank was helping them for the second time since the outbreak of COVID 19.
"On behalf of the Ministry Of Health, I would like to express our gratitude to the Central Bank for agreeing to partner with us. We will recall that the bank extended their assistance in creating capacity in laboratories when the response for COVID 19 intensified .Today the bank saw the need to help us convert Mavuso Trade Centre into an isolation centre" he said.
