MBABANE:King Mswati allegedly splashed close to R10million last week, to his brothers and sisters who are children of the late King Sobhuza.

This disclosure comes amid reports suggesting that the Mbabane Government Hospital and other health facilities across the country, have run out of medication and as a result, patients are dying in large numbers.

Reached for comments, King’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane said his office was not privy to individuals salaries hence the accounts office at Nkhanini was better positioned to respond.

“We are not privy  to individuals' salaries, allowances or monetary entitlements.Kindly take it up with the accounts office at Nkhanini it stands a better position to respond to your question because it is the custodian of royal

finances,” said the King’s Spokesperson.

Efforts to reach the Nkhanini royal accounts office proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.

But one of Sobhuza’s children confirmed to this Swaziland News that they received two-hundred and thirty thousand Rands(R230,000.00)each.

“Siyitfolile Mlangeni mane kute iphelela etandleni, labatfola mbamba kulabakhe. Nawungaya lebhange sewuhlole kutsi labakhe batfole malini, tsine sitfole R230,000.00 umuntfu amunye(meaning: We received R230,000.00 each but it’s not enough compared to his children. If you can get people at the bank and check how much his children received)”, said one of King Sobhuza’s children.

Reached for comments, Sikelela Dlamini, the Secretary General(SG) of the MultiStakeholder Forum(MSF) said this disclosure suggesting that members of the royal family received such huge amounts of money, while public institutions like health and education struggle with no resources, should be an eye opener for Swazis that the royal family has no interest of the people at heart.

“That is why there are no drugs in hospitals so that Swazis can die.Even in schools, by not releasing the resources, Mswati and his royal family want to cripple the education system so that ordinary Swazis can remain uneducated, beggars and be submissive to him,”said the MSF Secretary General.

Eswatini has about 70% of the population living below the poverty line, the country is ruled by Mswati as a absolute Monarch.
