BULANDZENI:Lutfo Dlamini, the Ndzingeni Member of Parliament(MP) has confirmed that residents of Mahlabatsini at Bulandzeni will soon receive clean water following the launch of a R3.5million Water Project.
The MP was responding to our questions after residents of Mahlabatsini-Bulandzeni approached this Swaziland News appealing for clean water within the area.
The residents currently use a source of water that is not health for human consumption.
“Yesterday we launched a E3,5million solar water scheme at Bulandzeni - Mashobane community of over 95 homesteads.This should be up and running in three(3)months.The community will now have piped water solar powered as opposed to the handpump I personally donated six(6) years ago.We currently finalizing a new design for Bulandzeni (Madlalangubo)Water Scheme for over seventy-eight(78)homesteads,” said the MP.
The Ndzingeni MP further mentioned that,they were currently working on converting Somile Benguni Water Scheme,to a solar as the residents were not affording the costs of electricity powered water supply.
“We are doing our best for our communities my brother. You can’t change the issue of water overnight but we are doing our best.Mahlabatsini is on our radar now and we should be getting the survey engineers.Challenge here is the naturally marshy place very difficult to approach especially after the excessive rains we had.But we are on it.Trust above assists you.We are working with different partners to resolve the challenges and give our people a better life.Suffice to say water and sanitation is a global challenge,” said the MP.
