MBABANE:Saneliswa Magagula, the Spokesperson of EmaSwati For Change (EFC) has,on behalf of the organization, issued a statement, condemning the guilty verdict on incarcerated pro-democracy Members of Parliament (MPs) Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube.
The two MPs were found guilty by Judge Mummcy Dlamini last week on politically motivated terrorism and sedition charges, they were arrested as per an order allegedly issued by King Mswati.
Mswati rules eSwatini as an absolute Monarch, with Executive, Judiciary and Legislative powers.
“EmaSwati For Change (EFC) condenms recent guilty verdict against Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube, two Eswatini members of Parliament who have been unjustly found guilty on trumped-up terrorism charges. This verdict not only represents a grave and egregious ruination of justice but also serves as chilling reminder of the regime relentless efforts to silence dissent and suppress legitimate calls for democratic reforms. It further highlights the precarious state of justice and human rights in Eswatini, which lie in great decrepitude," reads the statement in part, released by EmaSwati For Change Spokesperson Saneliswa Magagula on Tuesday.
