TENSION LOOMING:Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) Themba Masuku allegedly campaigning for his brother Thulani Masuku to take over as Hosea MP.

MBABANE: Senator Themba Masuku, the Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) Senator Themba Masuku is allegedly campaigning for his ‘brother’ Thulani Masuku to be elected as Hosea Member of Parliament(MP).

Thulani Masuku is a former Hosea MP who lost elections to incarcerated MP Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza during the previous elections.

The DPM recently went to Hosea Silele Clinic to plant a tree, he allegedly invited former MP Thulani Masuku to sit next to him and Chief Mlotjwa.

Journalists from the Times of eSwatini who spoke to this Swaziland News on condition of anonymity,confirmed that the DPM has asked them to promote Thulani Masuku so that he can win elections at Hosea.

The scribes alleged that Hosea is one of the Constituencies that is of major interest to the authorities.

“We have been approached to promote Thulani Masuku, the DPM wants him to take over as Hosea MP. He is so desperate in such way that we have been asked to promote the former MP,” said the journalist.

Senator Themba Masuku, the DPM failed to respond to our questions when reached for comments on Thursday.

But Thulani Masuku, the former Hosea MP said he will stand for elections if the people decide to nominate him.

“I cannot say I will stand as an MP,powers to decide that is vested upon the people. What if I decide to stand as an MP and the people nominate me as Bucopho, I will listen to what the people say. If they nominate as an MP, I will respect their decision, the same way if they decide to deploy me to be their Bucopho,” said the former MP.
