MBABANE:Muzi Dlamini, the Eswatini Post and Telecommunications Corporation(EPTC) General Manager Finance, might go home after the government parastatal refused to renew his contract of employment.
Dlamini was allegedly implicated in the disappearance of R16million within the public company, he was General Manager Finance(GMF) when the cyber-crime was allegedly committed and the case never saw the light of the day.
But, it could not be ascertained if the company’s decision not to renew Dlamini's contract was influenced by his alleged failure to ensure the safety of the company funds.
The public company was marred by allegations of corruption, fraud and money laundering ever since Dlamini took over as the head of its Finance Department.
It has been disclosed that the once powerful, influential and politically connected former Prime Minister’s son is highly expected to leave the company next month.
A questionnaire was sent to the Eswatini Telecommunications General Manager Finance, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments, Themba Khumalo, the Eswatini Post and Telecommunications Corporation(EPTC) Managing Director(MD) described the matter as personal, involving the employee hence Dlamini was better positioned to comment.
“Utsini yena, kungaba kahle utsintse yena, ayikhulumise ngoba yindzaba lentsintsa yena, ngeke kulunge ikhulunywe ngimi(meaning: It’s better to contact him for a comment, this matter involves him hence it wouldn’t be proper for me to comment),” said the EPTC Managing Director when responding to questions from this Swaziland News on Sunday morning.
Former Minister Mtiti Fakudze is the Board Chairperson of the Eswatini Post and Telecommunications Corporation(EPTC).
