MBABANE: Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo is allegedly violating provisions of the Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence(SODOV) Act, he is using a government contract cell-number 7606 7501 to request nude pictures from different women, while inviting them for sex at his government house in the capital-Mbabane.
One of the women who spoke to this Swaziland News alleged that Nxumalo has been inviting her for a visit to his house for sexual intercourse.
“Please send a ‘hot’ video, dazzle me darling,” reads one of the messages sent to the woman by the Government Spokesperson.
Other details of the conversation between the alleged horny Government Spokesperson and the woman cannot be revealed as this might compromise the protection of our source.
A questionnaire was sent to Nxumalo, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
On another note, the Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence(SODOV) Act criminalizes consistent request for nude pictures from an unwilling woman and/or women.
Reached for comments,Nonhlanhla Dlamini, the Executive Director of the Swaziland Action Group Against Abuse(SWAGAA) described the conduct of the government official as criminal act that needs to reported, he advised the women not to be tempted to send the nude pictures.
“This is a criminal act that needs to be reported. According to SODOV section 48(2)this is a form of sexual harassment. I would also encourage the victims not to be tempted to send the pictures, a lot of people are committing suicide these days and this is attributed to social media,” said the SWAGAA Director.
