MBABANE: Elihle Magagula, the National Women organiser of the Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) says the Supreme Court of eSwatini ruling in favour of members of Gays, Lesbians, Biosexual, Transgender Queer(LGBTQI) to register their organisation is, a victory that human rights defenders must celebrate.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Saturday evening, the CPS National Women Organiser referred to the Supreme Court ruling as a ‘great achievement.’
“So to say it is a victory we must celebrate as human rights defenders but at the same time not forget that Tinkhundla regime is not for the people. They can decide at anytime to retract that verdict whenever it seems to work against their interest as they always do with the laws in the country," said the Communist Party Of Swaziland National Women Organiser Elihle Magagula.
The verdict that was delivered by the Supreme Court on Friday, suggests that members of the LGBTQI will now legally register their organisation in eSwatini.
