LUDZIDZINI: Prince Chief Matatazela, the member of the King’s Advisory Council(Liqoqo) and Chief of Nhlambeni has died.
The unfortunate death of the Prince was confirmed to this Swaziland News by children of the late King Sobhuza on Monday afternoon.
“It’s true but, you must contact Ludzidzini Indvuna Lusendvo Fakudze, uma ungamtfoli ngoba ngatsi unemkhuhlane, ukhona umfana weNdvuna Saddam Magongo,” said a senior Prince.
Reached for comments, Saddam Magongo, the Ludzidzini Governor’s Assistant(umfana weNdvuna) confirmed the death of the Prince but declined to share further details saying he was too junior to discuss the matter with the media.
“It’s true but you have to contact Mbekelweni Indvuna Themba Ginindza who is in charge now, in the absence of Indvuna Lusendvo Fakudze.I am too junior to discuss details,” said the Ludzidzini Governor’s Assistant.
Efforts to reach Governor Themba Ginindza proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
But Nhlambeni traditional authorities(Bandlancane) confirmed the death of the Prince, however, Indvuna of the Inner Council Mtoloza Lulane was identified as the rightful person to comment.
Nhlambeni Indvuna Mtoloza Lulane had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments,King’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane said he was receiving the news regarding the death of the Prince for the first time,from this journalist,he however described the death as an unfortunate loss.
“We were not aware.It is indeed a sad and unfortunate loss.The Prince served diligently in a host of the State’s organs including the Civil Service Commission(CSC).He was a workaholic with an enviable magnetic personality.A giant has fallen and Eswatini is one big brain poorer.How sad!”, said the King’s Spokesperson.
