MBABANE: Tito Simelane, the Director Urban Government in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has retired, however, he is allegedly refusing to go home amid uncertainty within the Ministry, on whether retired PS Clifford Mamba will bounce back or not.
Simelane, who retired this week and is allegedly part of retired PS Clifford Mamba’s powerful and politically connected syndicate,summoned all Town Clerks and/or Municipality Chief Executive Officers(CEOs) into a meeting that was held at Manzini Municipality Chambers.
The meeting according to information in possession of this Swaziland News, was held on the 15th June 2023 and its agenda was to discuss the ongoing Local Government Elections among others.
Insiders alleged that Director Tito Simelane, told Town Clerks that Clifford Mamba might bounce back next month and facilitate a contract extension for him as well.
A questionnaire was sent to Tito Simelane, the Director Urban Government, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Makhosi Simelane, the Acting Principal Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development said he was in a meeting and asked this journalist to send a message.
“In a meeting,please text,” said the Acting Principal Secretary who later failed to respond to the questionnaire sent to him on Tuesday.
On another note, it is alleged that retired PS Clifford Mamba is still pushing to have his contract renewed.
King Spokesperson Percy Simelane told this publication earlier, that the King renews contracts if he feels that person is still needed to provide services.
