SIKHUPHE: The United States(US) Government has invested over R14.4billion to eSwatini health system through the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief(PEPFAR).
This was disclosed by the US Embassy Eswatini through an online statement, when welcoming PEPFAR
Ambassador Dr John Nkengasong to Eswatini.
According to the online statement, Ambassador Nkengasong landed at the King Mswati III International Airport on Tuesday afternoon, he was welcomed by the Deputy Director of Health Services in the Ministry of Health Rejoice Nkambule, and Chargé d’Affaires Caitlin Piper.
“Ambassador Nkengasong is here to learn about and support the strong partnership between the U.S. Government and the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini on HIV and health—a partnership that has seen more than US $800 million invested in the health of Emaswati and saved tens of thousands of lives,”reads the online statement.
