EFF Swaziland President granted E15000 bail

MBABANE: Ncamiso Ngcamphalala, the President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Swaziland has been granted bail by the High court. 

Ngcamphalala was arrested on 2ndMay 2020 and charged for contravening Section 3(1) as read with Section 4(c) of the Sedition and Subversive activities act of 1938. Speaking to this publication, the National Communications Officer of the EFF Swaziland, Lindelani Zwane confirmed that the President has been granted bail.

“The President has been granted bail to the amount of E15000. He was instructed by the High court to pay E3000 to be released and must provide surety of E12000. The High Court has ordered the President to submit his travelling documents to Mbabane Police Station and has to report to Lubulini Police Station every month,” the communications officer said.

Reached for comment by this Swaziland News, Lucky Lukhele, the Spokesperson of Swaziland Solidarity Network (SSN) welcomed the President and thanked his legal team and all the people who supported him during this time.

“We welcome the President of EFF Swaziland and salute his legal team. We want him to be strong as this is a test of his leadership. We condemn his arrest and maintain that he is an innocent man. This harassment is meant to scare him and other activists. We call for International Solidarity for the democratisation of Swaziland” said the SSN spokesperson.
