LUSAKA: King Mswati says, the recently concluded Tinkhundla Elections Voter Registration Exercise was a huge success as more than half of the population registered to vote.
Speaking on Saturday,during the signing of eight(8) Memorandums of Understanding with the Government of Zambia led by President Hakainde Hichilema, the King said he was encouraged by such numbers that demonstrated the public commitment to participate in the elections,
“We have just concluded a very successful voter registration exercice where more than half the population of 1.2 million emaSwati have registered to vote.We are indeed encouraged by such numbers, which are a testament of their commitment to participate in the election, especially those who are eligible to do so,"said the King as quoted by Government online platforms.
The King then touched on issues of economic development but maintained that growth and prosperity reside in a peaceful atmosphere.
“We remain concerned with the conflicts and tensions that prevail in different parts of the world,” said the King.
