MBABANE: Army Commander Lieutenant General Mashikilisane Fakudze ‘joined the fast lane’ on Monday evening and, avoided questions from this journalist when questioned regarding the abduction and torture and attempted murder of six(6)members of the Communist Party of Swaziland(CPS).
The CPS members were abducted on Thursday next to Mandvulo Hall-Lozitha Palace where Heads of State of the Southern African Custom Union(SACU) including South African President His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa, were holding a Summit.
It has been disclosed that they were on their way to Mbabane to support incarcerated young activist and CPS member Mvuselelo Mkhabela who facing politically motivated criminal charges after he protested against the ongoing Tinkhundla elections.
But sources told this publication that members of the military suspected that the CPS members were planning to protest before the Heads of State and disturb the Summit.
It has been gathered that among the six(6) activists who were abducted and tortured by the King’s soldiers, include Kwanele Fakudze(Head of Youth and Students Commission, Bafanabakhe Sacolo(National Organizing Secretary), Lwazi Maseko(Media officer) Simanga Dlamini, the CPS Poor Urban Commission Coordinator.
Simphiwe Dlamini, the International Secretary of the Communist Party told this Swaziland News on Monday evening that their members sustained serious injuries after the torture.
“We are currently sourcing treatment for them as Government hospitals are without medication. They were abducted by soldiers next to Lozitha Palace on their way to Mbabane to support Mvuselelo.Police and soldiers had staged a roadblock there along the Highway and they grabbed them,” said the Communist Party of Swaziland(CPS) Head of International Relations.
Eswatini is ruled by Mswati as an absolute Monarch, members of the army and the police are used to silence dissenting views who are critical of the dictatorship regime.
