LOBAMBA: Timothy Myeni, the Nkilongo Member of Parliament(MP) says infrastructure development including maintenance of roads, plays a significant role in promoting job creation and by extension, economic development.
Speaking in Parliament on Monday afternoon,the MP said as a result,Commerce Industry and Trade Minister Mancoba Khumalo was able to influence the establishment of a factory at Nkilongo because, the area had quality and accessible roads that promote the movement of goods.
“I would like to thank the Commerce Minister for the factory at Nkilongo,” he said.
The MP then noted that Lubulini was underdeveloped when it comes to roads, hence it’s hard for investors to establish businesses in that area, he called for the rehabilitation of roads at Lubulini.
“There’s Maloma Mine there and trucks are moving up and down,day and night but, the people are benefiting nothing from the mineral resources.Government must maintain the roads at Lubulini,” said the MP.
Myeni clarified that even though he was currently, an MP at Nkilongo, he was eager to see Lubulini developed because it’s his home area.
