MBABANE: Daniel Dlamini, the Commissioner of the ‘defunct’ Anti-Corruption Commission(ACC) suffered stroke and has been away from work for sometime now.
The ACC stopped its operations after Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala castrated it with a highly questionable judgment, after destroying the ACC, Maphalala went on to fraudulently loot over R1million public funds.
But after being exposed by this Swaziland News, the Chief Justice(CJ)then committed to pay-back the money through salary deductions.
An effort was made several times to contact the ACC boss for a comment, however, his mobile contract number was not reachable, it was difficult to even trace his relatives.
But on Thursday, one of the ACC investigators confirmed that the Commissioner suffered stroke and that he has been away from work for sometime now.
“Yes, the Commissioner suffered stroke and has been away from work for sometime now,” said one of the ACC investigators.
Jabu Phakathi, the Spokesperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission(ACC) declined to comment regarding the alleged illness of the ACC boss.
Dan Dlamini, the former Eswatini Revenue Authority(SRA) Internal Affairs Manager was appointed as ACC Commissioner in 2018, he worked for the law-enforcement agency as an investigator before joining SRA.
But Dlamini, a highly skilled investigator, was allegedly frustrated by the lack of a political will to fight corruption in eSwatini, the ACC is currently existing only on paper.
