LOBAMBA: Nonhlanhla Dlamini, the Executive Director of the Swaziland Action Group Against Abuse(SWAGAA),has urged King Mswati to demonstrate leadership by appointing more women into Parliament and Cabinet.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Wednesday evening when asked to comment regarding the King’s sentiments,suggesting that voters must consider electing more women into Parliament, Dlamini applauded the King’s speech but, urged him to lead by example.
“We appreciate that he encouraged voters to elect women but, we also appeal to him to appoint more women into Parliament and Cabinet,”said the SWAGAA Director when interviewed by editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.
King Mswati addressed the Nation during Sibaya on Tuesday, he urged voters to consider electing more women into Parliament.
“Globally, the issue of women leadership is one of the most important that should be adopted even by voters.I urge the Nation to consider voting for women as well, as statistics suggests that we have a few women in leadership,” said the King.
