MBABANE: Phila Buthelezi, the Minister of Labour and Social Security was,on Saturday morning, rushed to hospital after being attacked by his campaign bull.
Efforts to reach the Minister who doubles as Matsanjeni North Member of Parliament(MP) or his relatives, proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
But one of the Cabinet Ministers confirmed the incident when reached by this Swaziland News on Saturday afternoon.
“Tsine basi-reporthele kutsi wephukile usesibhedlela uyalulama(meaning:They told us as Cabinet, that he suffered a fracture and is in hospital recovering)”, said the Cabinet Minister.
The Cabinet Minister was then shocked when this journalist told ‘him/her’(to protect identity) that Minister Buthelezi was actually attacked by his campaign cow.
“Ewu, bye bye Zweli, let’s chat in the evening”, said the Cabinet Minister.
It has been disclosed that the Matsanjeni North MP was about to transport the cow to a nearby community, where it was to be slaughtered and feasted by residents as part of his campaign.
Buthelezi is highly expected to participate in the upcoming Tinkhundla elections, he is seeking a third-term as an MP.
