MBABANE: Maqhawe Mavuso, the former Mkhiweni Member of Parliament (MP) says the Constitution must be amended and allow those who want to go to Parliament to start campaigning shortly after the day of registration.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Sunday morning, the former vocal MP said, some aspiring MPs and ex-Members of the recently disclosed Parliament across the country are already campaigning, by hosting soccer tournaments, launching water schemes and giving out food parcels.
“The Constitution must be amended to allow those who want to go to Parliament to start campaigning on the day of registration. The ground should be made level, what is currently happening is not fair to other aspiring MPs.We can see others are already campaigning by giving out food parcels, launching water schemes and soccer tournaments," said the former Mkhiweni Member of Parliament.
