COMMERCE MINISTER: Alcohol strictly for home consumption.

MBABANE: Mancoba Khumalo, the Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade said the sale of alcohol that resumes today(Monday) would be strictly for home consumption.

Speaking during a press conference in Mbabane, the Minister emphasised the importance of adhering to the alcohol regulations in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. 

“Alcohol is strictly for home consumption, all liquor outlets will operate like bottle stores. They will be opening on Monday to Thursday, operating between 11 am- 5 pm. The limit is 2 trays of beer or 2 bottles of spirits per customer. No parties or group gatherings are allowed,\" said the Minister.

Khumalo also mentioned that Staff canteens at security forces barracks will not sell alcohol to the public. Compliance will be ensured through inspections by the Ministry with the assistance of the Ministry of Health, Labour, Regional Administrators, City councils and Security forces.
