MBABANE: Neal Rijikernberg, the Minister of Finance says, the ongoing investigation into the supply of medication in public hospitals remains credible despite reports of improper and unlawful conduct by one of the investigators.
This comes after the Times of eSwatini reported that one of the investigators of Funduzi Forensic Services was exposed for demanding a bribe.
In a public statement released on Wednesday afternoon, the Finance Minister said, the services of one Mr Charles Kwezera who was an independent contractor, was terminated but the the investigation “is continuing” with credible investigators.
“The remaining Funduzi team are seasoned professionals, consisting of, amongst others, an Advocate of the South African High Court, a Medical Doctor, a Senior Pharmacist, Senior Forensic Practitioners and Forensic Accountants”, reads the statement in part.
Government launched an investigation into the health crisis amid shortage of drugs in public hospitals, with an alleged intention to find solution to the crisis.
