MBABANE: Alpheous Nxumalo, the Government Spokesperson has released a statement on behalf of the State, condemning the hacking of Auditor General(AG) Timothy Matsebula’s email account.

As exclusively reported by the Times of eSwatini on Saturday, the email account of the AG was hacked with an alleged intention of accessing sensitive government information.

“Government wishes to categorically condemn in the strongest terms the crime of hacking the email account of the Auditor General. For all intents and purposes, this crime was committed in order access(sic) sensible information and to use such in a nefarious malicious manner”, reads the Government statement in part.

Government then expressed support for the office of the Auditor General including Matsebula as he carries out his critical duties as a public servant.
