NGWANE-PARK: King Mswati’s trusted bodyguard Sifiso Nsika Msibi allegedly collapsed and died, shortly after questioning fellow senior guard Ngwane Dlamini why he was not retiring.

The soldier was buried at Ngwane Park cemetery on Saturday morning, his grave is next to that of Mlandvo Khumalo, the alleged member of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) who was allegedly killed by the State in cold blood.

Effors to reach Msibi’s family proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.

But Senator Dlamini, a resident of ka-Shali-Ngwane Park, confirmed that a funeral was held on Saturday at the new Msibi homestead owned by the royal guard.

“It’s true Nkhosi, there was a funeral at the new ka-Msibi homestead, the royal guard was buried here at Ngwane Park cemetery”, said the resident.

But senior royal guards told this Swaziland News that a few days before he died, Sifiso Nsika Msibi had a serious disagreement with Ngwane Dlamini, the Head of Police Close Protection Unit during a recent meeting.

“We were in a meeting and Msibi openly questioned Ngwane why he was not retiring as he was approaching seventy(70) years. He further asked him why he, together with other elderly bodyguards, normally leave early, a week before the King left.Wambuta wamkhomba emehlweni watsi usuke ayowentani yena lemaveni ngoba sogugile, yini lalayentako lengeke seyentiwe ngulama-royal guards lamasha. Wakwata-ke Ngwane watsi “uyangdlongota lomfana”. said one of the royal guards.

It has been disclosed that Msibi who was also senior within the Royal Close Protection Unit(RCPU) and working closely with Major General Lasco, wanted young royal guards to be given a chance to travel with the King. He maintained that elderly royal guards like Ngwane Dlamini must retire.

Another royal guard who spoke to this publication shared a brief comment.

“Kumjubile kwemtsakatsi(meaning: The witch has ‘slaughtered’ him”, said the royal guard without mentioning the name of the witch he was referring to.

Efforts to reach Ngwane Dlamini, the Head of the Royal Police Protection Unit proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.

It is alleged that Msibi was part of royal guards who were supposed to travel with the King Mswati to Southern African Development Community(SADC) Summit in Angola this week, the King left the country on Wednesday.
