MBABANE: Alpheous Nxumalo, the eSwatini Government Spokesperson, has applauded emaSwati for voting in numbers thus sending a strong message to the detractors of the Tinkhundla system, that the Kingdom of eSwatini “is not for sale”.
Among those who listened to Government and King Mswati including their leader Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane are members of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO).
“Government wishes to congratulate the Nation for peaceful and successful voting exercise during the primary elections that took place on Saturday, 26 August 2023. All the adult emaSwati who believe in the democracy stipulated and empowered by our national Constitution that was born out of a through consultation process and was ratified in 2005; came forward willingly, happily and freely to exercise their right to vote. This was not just a “Right” put into good use, but also a civil responsibility duly fulfilled by conscientious citizens in their various constituencies. These voters, who represented different generations of young, medium and older men and women, came for two things: Firstly; they want to be represented by people whom they trust will represent them well and responsibly in Parliament and at Inkhundla level. Secondly, the voters are sending a strong message to the detractors of our Tinkhundla democratic system of governance that the Kingdom of Eswatini is not for sale,” said the Government Spokesperson through a press statement.
