MBABANE: Alpheous Nxumalo, the Government Spokesperson outpaced the President of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO) Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane live on the South African Broadcasting Corporation(SABC) last week, when he asked why “it is wrong when the King appoints his relatives”, to government and right when Magawugawu influences voters to elect his wife.

This comes after the SWALIMO President told the SABC in a panel discussion with Nxumalo that, the ongoing Tinkhundla elections will not form a government but, Mswati will elect his brothers and sisters into Cabinet.

Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) was part of the panel discussion.

“It’s not true that the King appoints his brothers and sisters into Cabinet, there are only two close relatives of the King in Cabinet. So, it’s right when Simelane push for his wife to be Parliament and it becomes wrong when someone else do it?”, said the Government Spokesperson.

Before Nxumalo responded, the SWALIMO President had accused the King of appointing Dlaminis as Prime Ministers, the Government Spokesperson warned Simelane not to place the lives of emaSwati in danger in his desire for a powerful political position.

“About ten(10) Prime Ministers were appointed by the King and they went on to form a government”, said the SWALIMO President.

Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane is campaigning for his wife Nomalungelo Simelane known as LaZwide to be in Parliament again, he told voters that electing his wife will escalate the calls for democratic reforms and influence regime-change inside Parliament.
