MBABANE: “Politics is not about selfish desires for powerful positions  and exposing the masses to death but peaceful engagements”, Alpheous Nxumalo, the Government Spokesperson told Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane during a panel discussion on eSwatini politics, hosted by the South African Broadcasting Corporation(SABC) last week.

This comes after Magawugawu, the President of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO) accused Nxumalo of ‘consuming’ the blood of emaSwati who were killed during the political unrest by defending the Tinkhundla system of governance.

“Nxumalo must not think all of us will behave like him and ‘drink’ the blood of emaSwati who were killed by this regime.He was once among those calling for democracy but because of money, he is now defending the system”, said the SWALIMO President.

But Nxumalo told Simelane that it was actually him who exposed emaSwati to death through “Kungahlwa Kwenile”, he urged him to come back and face his criminal charges.

“It was actually you who exposed emaSwati to death, I was not there when you facilitated or planned your “Kungahlwa Kwenile”. Politics is not about killing or exposing people to death but peaceful engagements njengoba senta nje nyalo. Loku silapha nje kute lotokufa”, said the Government Spokesperson.

Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) was part of the panel discussion.
