LOBAMBA: King Mswati has thanked all emaSwati for presenting him with “peace” as a birthday gift.
Speaking during his 55-55 Birthday and Independence Day Double Celebration held the Somhlolo National Stadium on Wednesday, the King further pledged to continue preserving culture and traditional values.
“The Nation will recall that when I was called upon to lead this Nation in 1986, I made a promise to lead with love, honesty, and integrity. I pledged that I would follow in the footsteps of my predecessors to ensure that we preserve our nationhood, our customs, and our traditions for the benefit of our future generations.From time to time, the Nation has been asking what type of gift I would gladly appreciate and I have said it over and over again, that I would like the gift of peace. Indeed, the Nation has given me this gift and I pray that the Nation may continue to uphold this great gift of peace so that the Nation may advance,” said the King.
