MBABANE: Mduduzi Gina, the Secretary General (SG)of the Trade Union Congress of Swaziland (TUCOSWA) says Phila Buthelezi, the outgoing Minister of Labour and Social Security introduced a genuine open door policy to discuss challenges affecting workers.
Responding to a questionnaire from this Swaziland News on Tuesday, when asked to comment about the performance of the Minister particularly in handling workers issues, Gina said, the Labour Minister's Parliament experience might have prepared him well to always remain calm even when ‘temperatures rise reaching the boiling point’ during meetings with stakeholders.
“Mr Buthelezi introduced a genuine open door encounter which was more practical under the circumstances. His experience on debates acquired from his last Parliamentary term prepared him well to always remain calm even when the issues being discussed became heated. His tireless efforts to cause for the conversion of the Provident Fund to a Pension Fund was appreciated as a serious effort. This demand is at the core of the workers demand dating back to 27 demands," said the TUCOSWA Secretary General.
