PUDEMO: Dagga farmers should do anything to protect their product from POCA

Monday, 13th July, 2020

MBABANE:Wandile Dludlu, the Secretary General of the People’s United Democratic Movement (PUDEMO) has urged dagga farmers to do anything in their powers to protect their product.

This comes after media reports suggesting that a powerful political syndicate was using the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA) to seize cash within various banks and private properties owned by powerless dagga farmers in the rural areas. Speaking to this Swaziland News, Dludlu said the political syndicate is eliminating competition.

“PUDEMO supports the people from rural areas who had committed no crime except to make good use of the soil to earn a living. We strongly condemn the day light robbery initiated by government. Emaswati are hard workers trying to make ends meet for their families. We join the call by other Emaswati for government to regulate the farming of cannabis” said the Secretary General.
