MBABANE: Moses Vilakati, the Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs says, Manzini street vendors will soon receive free umbrellas to protect themselves from the harmful sun rays.
The Minister was speaking during the celebration of the World Ozone Layer Day under the theme 'Montreal Protocol: Fixing the Ozone layer and reducing Climate Change.'
"As part of the activities supported through the funding solicited from International Funding Agencies, this year we are supporting the small business vendors operating within the Manzini City with umbrellas to keep them and their produce protected from the harmful rays of the sun.This is part of our efforts to encourage sun-safety among emaSwati; and the support we are to hand-over is worth E25 000,” said the Environment Minister.
