King Mswati misled the United Nations(UN) General Assembly this week, when he declared support for the ongoing global call to silence guns when on the other hand, he rules through the barrel of a gun.
Soldiers and the police recently killed dozens of civilians merely for demanding democracy and subsequently, King Mswati allegedly unleashed his mercenaries to assassinate Human Rights lawyer Thulani Rudolf Maseko, the Chairperson of the pro-democracy Multi-Stakeholder Forum(MSF).
Now, if Mswati declares support for the silencing of guns, he must demonstrate commitment to hold a dialogue not to use State weapons to silence dissenting voices.
The ongoing global call for the silencing of guns seeks to ensure that the world enjoys peace and stability and this, can only be achieved through peaceful resolution of conflicts.
King Mswati has proven to be a political hypocrite, he uses guns to kill innocent civilians merely for demanding democracy while on the other hand, he claims to support the global call for the silencing of guns.
The global agenda for peace and security must be supported by all those who live on this planet.
Dialogue remains one of the most effective mechanisms to resolve conflicts and therefore, Mswati must subject himself to the principles of an all inclusive political dialogue as a matter of urgency.

King Mswati.
