MBABANE:Percy Simelane, the King’s Spokesperson has described the decision by former Justice Minister and newly appointed member of the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) Sibusiso Shongwe’s decision to flee to exile as very strange.

Responding to this Swaziland News on Sunday after Shongwe told this publication that, he fled to exile amid a plot by certain Judges to arrest him, Simelane wondered why the former Justice Minister ran away from Judges who does not have the powers to arrest individuals.

“Mr Shongwe's claim is very strange and too abnormal to attract a straightforward response.Normally, suspects run away from the police who are law enforcement agents, but in the case in question,he is allegedly running away from Judges whose core business is to interpret the law and not to arrest and charge. He alleges that his sin is being appointed by the King to serve at TSC.To any normal thinking person, this cannot attract a charge. To seek the King's intervention is cultural, but it all depends on the nature of  the issue involved”, said the King’s Spokesperson.

On another note, Shongwe told this publication on Sunday morning that, he was also receiving a backlash after the dismissal of Mbongwa Ernest Dlamini, the President of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers(SNAT).

The former Justice Minister said, he fled to South Africa on Friday after receiving intelligence information suggesting that, certain Judges and other high profile individuals, were plotting to arrest him while the King was away, attending the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in NewYork.

“Its true, I fled to South Africa on Friday after receiving intelligence information suggesting that, certain Judges and others in corridors of power want to do something to me. Letinye tintfo tifuna bese utibuka from a bird-eye view ungaphandle. In fact, they were angered after the King re-appointed me yet they thought they had buried me politically”, said the former Justice Minister.
