MBABANE: Chief Ndlaluhlaza Ndwandwe, the Minister of Public Works and Transport accepted the Kofi Annan Road Safety Award on behalf of the Kingdom of eSwatini, the award is a recognition for managing road accidents.
According to Government online platforms, the Minister received the award at the 2nd Edition of the ceremony held in Marrakech, Morocco.
“In accepting this prestigious honour, I, on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini, commit to continuously improving road safety and eventually moving towards zero road deaths and serious injuries by 2063.Eswatini publicly committed to the road safety action points of the 2nd Global Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 on the 22nd June 2022. Prior to this, the country had ratified the African Road Safety Charter in 2020 and is aligned with the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Trans-African Highways,” said the Public Works Minister.
