“It’s true, they received their money on Monday and we haven’t received complaints workers who was not paid in the first batch” said the Secretary General.

This comes after the PM has announced during a press conference that the first batch of COVID-19 payment for laid-off workers begins on Friday with 1949 recipients.

“Subsequently, payments will be made every Friday until the current figure of the laid-off employees is exhausted” the PM said.

On Monday morning, this publication had reported that the union was complaining that the PM had promised the money will be paid on Friday, however, the matter was later sorted after the workers received it on Monday.
