MBABANE:Dr Simon Zwane, the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has called for more effort by local Municipalities and other stakeholders, towards achieving the United Nations(UN) Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs), Government online platforms reported on Monday afternoon.
The PS was speaking on Monday during the commemoration of World Habitat Day which marks the beginning of Urban October, he said the month gives an opportunity to stakeholders to participate in activities, events, and discussions which support the creation of a sustainable future.
“The Ministry is committed to improving and managing the country’s urbanization through the development and implementation of policies that promote sustainable development.Particularly, Government is committed to working towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11: making human settlements and cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable,” said the Principal Secretary.
