MBABANE: Themba Nhlanganiso Masuku, the former Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) is allegedly lobbying newly elected Members of Parliament(MPs) to elect his wife Dimpho Masuku as a Senator.
A questionnaire was sent to the former DPM, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
It has been disclosed that,on Monday afternoon,the former Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) met some of the newly elected MPs at the the Olive Country Lodge in Manzini, he allegedly lobbied them to elect his wife.
When this journalist went undercover to verify the meeting by calling the Olive Country Lodge, a senior Manager confirmed the meeting.
“He has just left, his meeting was over about forty-five minutes(45) ago now”, said the alleged Olive Country Lodge Manager.
The newly elected MPs are highly expected to elect ten(10) Senators this week, five(5) women and five(5) men.
But the competition is proving to be difficult for some aspiring Senators, insiders within Parliament alleged that,some have paid over five hundred thousand Rands(R500,000.00) as bribes to the aspiring MPs but they might not win.
“It’s a tough competition, the problem is that some of the MPs are continuing to take aspiring Senators money without telling them the truth that, they have already made a decision who to vote for.
