The Pigg’s Peak Ratepayers Association has the right to demand accountability, with regards to the reported domestic violence sex scandal during the Municipality’s Workshop at the Happy Valley Hotel last weekend.
Firstly, that Workshop was funded by Ratepayers and the subsequent allegations of domestic violence automatically made the alleged sexual relationship between Pigg’s Peak Municipality Public Relations Officer(PRO) Phumaphi Msweli and Simiso Dlamini of vital public interest.
Mzwandile Ndzinisa, the Pigg’s Peak Chief Executive Officer(CEO) allegedly ran for cover as a man alleged to be Msweli’s husband invaded the Happy Valley upon receiving information suggesting that,Msweli was having sex with Town Planner Simiso Dlamini during the Workshop.
It should be noted that, even if Msweli and Dlamini had privately booked at the Hotel and paid the Bill from their own pockets, the moment a fight or domestic violence erupts,as journalists we come-in because it’s no longer private.
Sex between two(2) consenting adults in a private place might be private but, domestic violence and the involvement of public funds attract public interest and/or the media and supersedes the right to privacy.
In light of the aforementioned, it is therefore of paramount importance to emphasize that, the Pigg’s Peak Ratepayers through their Association, have the right to demand accountability, their monies were abused by the Municipality’s Management to book for the PRO and the Town so they can have sex while claiming to be attending a Workshop.
