It is commendable to note that, the negotiations between the First National Bank(FNB) Eswatini and the Swaziland Union of Financial Institutions Allied Workers Union(SUFIAWU) yielded positive results.
FNB is a reputable bank, it was not in the interest of this brand to see workers protesting in demand of a salary increment hence the reported arrogance and reluctance by the Management was a threat to the reputation of the financial institution’s brand.
Workers are the engine of this brand, despite being technologically advanced, the FNB systems are developed and controlled by human resources.
FNB Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Dennis Tikhalo Mbingo acted in the public interest by reaching an agreement with the workers, customers were getting worried and this is a bank that impacts people’s lives.
In the midst of any conflict, it’s always commendable to receive information suggesting that, an agreement has been reached and peace has been restored.
This means more energy will now be directed to production and/or development of more services for customers instead of a strike action.
