MBABANE: Zweli Martin Dlamini, the editor of this Swaziland News has written to retiring Senior Superintendent Clement Sihlongonyane to pay a cow in terms of eSwatini Law and Custom for assaulting his wife.
This comes after the senior cop invaded the home of the editor in April 2020 and dragged Dlamini’s wife Nompendulo Mkhonta to Mbabane Police Station where she was tortured and told to reveal the whereabouts of the editor.
“I was communicating with Sihlongonyane yesterday(Tuesday) evening,I want him to apologize and pay a cow for assaulting my wife in terms of Eswatini Law and Custom. In siSwati that home does not belong to me,but BatfwaNkhosi. Next to my home kunelithuna leliPhovela leNkhosi lelitala laMalangeni,I just feel like Sihlongonyane undermined the entire family by dragging Makoti wabo wayomshaya angakoni lutfo. Kumele awugeze lomuti ngeNkhomo kuloku lakwenta kuyongena ajangaze ashaye umfati walenye indvodza”, said the editor.
Dlamini said, using force will be the last alternative against the senior cop but, he wants to give him a chance to demonstrate remorse and pay the cow.He said, he will sent a delegation of BatfwabeNkhosi to Sihlongonyane uMphakatsi to report the case in terms of the Swazi Law and Custom before using force against the brutal cop.
On another note, Sihlongonyane asked the editor what he wanted from him, as he allegedly sent people to burn his home during the unrest.
“Mosi nangishisela, manje seningifunani(meaning:You burnt my home, what do you want from me?”, said the senior cop.
