LOZITHA: King Mswati was on Tuesday in jovial mood as all Members of Parliament(MPs) and Senators introduced themselves and pledged loyalty to him.
Mswati rules eSwatini as an absolute Monarch, political parties are banned from participating in elections and Parliament is restricted from criticizing or questioning the budget of the royal family.
The King met the new elected and appointed MPs for the first time here at Mandvulo Hall-Lozitha Palace, a few days before announcement of the Cabinet,all the MPs and Senators expressed love for the country and the institution of the Monarchy.
Manzini South MP Owen Nxumalo suggested to the King that, issues that might disturb peace in the country must be addressed and tackled urgently, he referred to such as umkhuhlane(political flue).
“We must address any emerging political flue that might disturb peace urgently Your Majesty”, said the Manzini South MP, a former Minister of Public Service.
Prince Lindani,an appointed MP thanked the King for his wise leadership and for successfully hosting Sibaya national gathering, he said the numbers witnessed at Ludzidzini Palace demonstrated confidence in the current Tinkhundla system.
“The large numbers witnessed during Sibaya Your Majesty demonstrated a vote of confidence in the Tinkhundla system”, said the King’s son.
Sifiso Shabalala, the Dvokodvweni MP told the King that, he “loves the Tinkhundla system of Governance” wholeheartedly.
“Ungibona nje Ngwenyama ngiyiNkhundla ngihamba(meaning: as you can see me Your Majesty, I am the Tinkhundla system)”, said the MP.
