OPINION: A Cabinet without Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) Themba Masuku-Good bye Nhlane!

Sunday, 12th November, 2023

It’s no longer a secret,former Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) Themba Nhlanganiso Masuku who was among the Commanders in the shooting and killing of innocent civilians during the recent political unrest won’t be in Cabinet for the 2023-2028 term of office.

The political career of the former DPM was marred by allegations of corruption and killing of civilians however, we can learn a lesson from the sad ending of his political career;

”Mswati does not have a permanent friend, his main interest is the Throne and he has a ‘variety’ of loyalists who can do better than Themba Nhlanganiso Masuku”.

Considering his age and health condition,we can confidently mention that,his political career has ended, particularly because the young generation that does not tolerate political nonsense is emerging.

Form three(3) students, born in 2008 will be doing their first year at the University in 2028, this means more young people who will demand democracy will emerge and find the Tinkhundla Government reluctant to release scholarships,another political unrest perpetrated by inequality and the high level of poverty is looming.

Between 2023 and 2028, the young generation will be enjoying access to information through the digital media and there would be no room to mislead them through the State owned radio.

This means even if Themba Nhlanganiso Masuku could wish for a come back to Cabinet, it won’t be possible, the days of the current Tinkhundla system are numbered considering the state of the economy and rampant corruption.

Well, it is worth-mentioning that, any position that the King might wish to re-deploy Themba Nhlanganiso Masuku would be a demotion,he won’t be escorted and his political influence has already been castrated.

Well, now that Masuku is no longer a Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) he won’t consistently attract the attention of the media. What a sad ending!.

“Good bye Nhlane!”
