MBABANE:Sibusiso Mngadi,the Communication Officer in the Office of the United Nations(UN) Resident Coordinator George Wachira says, the moment of silence observed on Monday was in memory of their colleagues killed amid the Israel-Palestinian war.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, the UN Eswatini Communications Officer further mentioned that, the UN flag was lowered in their offices.
“UN staff in observed a minute of silence and the UN flag is lowered to half-mast, as we mourn the more than 100 colleagues killed in Gaza – the highest number of UN aid workers killed in a conflict in the history of our organization,” said Sibusiso Mngadi, Communications Officer in the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Eswatini.
The United Nations(UN) Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported last week that one hundred and one(101)of it’s staff have been killed.
