MATSAPHA:King Mswati’s mercenaries are currently investigating all Correctional Services officers particularly those based in Matsapha Prison in an effort to identify pro-democracy warders who might sympathize with incarcerated freedom fighters.

A questionnaire was sent to Superintendent Gugulethu Dlamini, the Correctional Services Spokesperson, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

Insiders disclosed that, some of the officers were suspected to be sympathizing with incarcerated Members of Parliament(MPs) Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube including Thabo Kunene, the alleged Commander of the Solidarity Forces.

Arno Pienaar, the King’s ‘Chief Mercenary’ had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

“The authorities are suspecting that, some of these officers might release the political prisoners particularly, the Commander at night.The polygraph test is meant to identify those who might be undercover pro-democracy activists”, said an insider within the Correctional Services. 

But in a public statement sent to this Swaziland News on Tuesday, Thamsanqa Hlatswako, the Secretary General(SG) of the Political Parties Assembly(PPA) confirmed knowledge of the matter and condemned the harassment of the Correctional Services officers.

“The Political Parties Assembly has been inundated with calls from unhappy Swazis working at the country's Correctional facilities who are being subjected to polygraph tests, under the accusations of aiding and abetting political prisoners.This unlawful harassment of the officers is said to be carried out by four members of the group of white South African mercenaries and two members from the Correctional services officials. What is apparent from this act of illegality is the reality that the desperate regime has for all intents and purposes outsourced the national security of our country to these assassins for hire. These individuals do not possess security clearances to be allowed unfettered access to top state security,” said the PPA Secretary General.
