LUDZIDZINI:Mshikishi Mndzebele, the Umbhacanga artist who composed the popular “Tinkhundla Siphila ngato-Monarchial Democracy”,song says, he is hungry and poor.
Speaking during the recently held Sibaya national gathering, the artist told King Mswati that, he was getting older now but still struggling and living in poverty because artists in this country are not prioritized.
“I am hungry and poor, as artist we are not taken seriously in this country but, South African artists are contracted and paid more money” he said.
Mndzebele composed a song and popularized the Tinkhundla undemocratic system of Governance, the song was played by the State owned radio.
Under the eSwatini Tinkhundla system, political parties are banned from participating in elections, the Prime Minister(PM) is appointed by the King from the ruling Dlamini royal family.
