MBABANE: Ncamiso Ngcamphalala, the President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) of Swaziland has been arrested by the eSwatini police for alleged housebreaking and theft, he is currently kept at Lubulini Police Station.
The arrest of the political activist was confirmed by his mother Lindiwe Dlamini when reached for comments by this Swaziland News, however, she declined to give further details saying she was still at pain with the latest developments.
“How did this information reach you so fast?”. It’s true but I can’t comment further ngoba kwamine ngisesangene nje kutsi lomtfwana unani, ungenwe yini(meaning: I am still disturbed to come into terms with the conduct of my child). I am told he might appear in court tomorrow(Monday), maybe he will respond to some of your questions once he has been released” she said.
The arrest of the political activist came few weeks after he was released on bail on a sedition charge for criticizing King Mswati.
Eswatini Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati did not respond to our questions at the time of compiling report.
But sources close to the mater told this publication that the political activist was arrested with another friend and they were allegedly nabbed with exhibits few meters away from the crime scene.
Reached for comments, Lindelani Zwane, the Acting President said he was aware that Ngcamphalala has been arrested again but referred further comments to Sphelele Nkomondze, whom he said was the now the National Spokesperson.
“I am aware of this matter, but I would advise that you contact Sphelele, the National Spokesperson as I am currently busy preparing for exams” he said.
Efforts to reach the EFF Spokesperson proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
