MBABANE: Ncamiso Ngcamphalala, the President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) of Swaziland has been suspended with immediate effect.
This Swaziland News reported on Sunday that Ngcamphalala was arrested by the police for alleged house breaking and theft, he was kept at Lubulini Police Station and expected to appear in court on Monday.
The political activist was arrested few weeks after being released on bail on a charge of sedition for criticizing King Mswati.
The political organization has released a statement confirming that Ngcamphalala has been suspended following the latest developments.
“This statement serves to notify members of the Economic Freedom Fighters of Swaziland and the general public at large that after a meeting that the Central Command Team had, has since made a resolution to suspend the interim president Ncamiso Ngcamphalala following his arrest with immediate effect from his position while pending investigation. The decision is accordance with the Discipline and Conduct of all members of the organization taken from the founding constitution of the Economic Freedom Fighters of Swaziland. The accusation itself is against the principles of the organization” said the political organization.
The EFF Swaziland further clarified that what Ngcamphalala stand accused of, has nothing to do with the organization, and that it distances itself from such accusations.
