MBABANE:Sicelo Nxumalo,the Acting Principal Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy has announced fuel prices decrease.

The prices shall come into effect Midnight, Thursday, 07 December, 2023 (effective Friday, 08 December 2023).

The price of diesel ppm will decrease by eighty(80)cents per litre, the price of Illuminating Paraffin will decrease by fifty(50) cents per litre whilst the price of unleaded petrol 95 (ULP 95) will remain unchanged at E20.80 per litre.

A questionnaire was sent to Sabelo Dlamini, the Secretary General(SG) of the Eswatini Local Kombis Association, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

“The international oil prices continued to decline due to the persistent weaker demand.The Brent crude oil prices traded at an average of US$82.94 a barrel in November, 2023 compared to an average of US$90.09 a barrel realized in the month of October, 2023. This situation led to over-recoveries/profits in the local price of diesel and paraffin, necessitating the price decrease in the  price of both Diesel 50 ppm S and illuminating Paraffin,” reads the statement in part released by the Acting Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy.
