MBABANE:Senator Princess Ncengencenge says,she is no longer a lesbian as previously reported by this Swaziland News, the Princess denied allegations suggesting that, she was lobbying for Tengetile Mahlalela to become a Member of Parliament(MP) for the Hhohho Region so she could legalize same sex marriages.
Speaking during the Channel yeMaswati People’s and Places hosted by veteran journalist Qhawe Mamba on Thursday, the Princess alleged that, some MPs told her that, senior Members of Parliament(MPs) communicated with a fugitive journalist during the Regional Women MPs elections to de-campaign Tengetile Mahlalela.
Even though the Senator did not mention the name of the journalist, the story was written by Zweli Martin Dlamini, the editor of this Swaziland News.
“It’s true that I was campaigning for Tengetile Mahlalela to become an MP but I was shocked upon reading the story where it was alleged that, I was doing something with her.I was a lesbian but I’m no longer a lesbian, let me make that clear.When I enquired from some MPs where these allegations came from, I was told that some senior MPs are consistently communicating with the fugitive journalist”, said the Senator.
The Senator said, after losing the elections as a result of the article, Tengetile Mahlalela was at pain and she felt sorry for her.
“She was deeply hurt by the article, unlike her I’m very strong and used to the dirty game of politics but, I felt sorry for her.Maybe I can urge MPs to remain honorable and refrain from giving stories to the fugitive journalist.Let’s remain Honorable, we took an oath to serve the King and the country.That fugitive made it clear that he is against Tinkhundla system,”said the Senator.
