MBABANE:David Mfanmpela Myeni, the Sincemphetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund(SMVAF) Chief Executive Officer(CEO) has advised motorists and citizens who were involved in road accidents to file claims with the Fund.
SMVAF was established in terms of the MVA Act 1991 with a primary mandate to treat, rehabilitate and compensate road traffic accident victims.
Speaking in Mbabane on Thursday during the official draw of the ongoing Ingwenyama Cup last sixteen(16), the CEO further mentioned that, even though they strive to ensure that “accident victims are compensated”, they were working towards raising awareness and ensuring an accident free society,
The CEO was addressing participants including Prince Hlangabeza who represents His Majesty the King in the Ingwenyama Cup.
“We encourage road accident victims to come to us and file claims, hence our slogan “help us to help you”.But Your Royal Highness, we are working towards ensuring that, we influence a society free from road accidents”, said the Chief Executive Officer(CEO).
The CEO further mentioned that, the Ingwenyama Cup “has helped them to disseminate messages” and educate the public about road accidents and how to prevent same.
“But despite the educational messages, we want to ensure that, any Liswati who has been involved in an accident is compensated so that life can continue,” said the CEO.
