MBABANE:Percy Simelane,the King’s Spokesperson says,Queen Ntombi Tfwala will continue to try other economic development projects that seeks to improve the lives of emaSwati despite the collapse of the Swaziland Women Economic Empowerment Trust(SWEET).
Responding to this Swaziland News on Friday,the King’s Spokesperson said,the Queen “has not openly made a comment” since the controversy surrounding the collapse of the women economic empowerment project erupted but clarified that, the Queen will not give-up in trying something new that will improve the lives of emaSwati.
“She has not openly made a comment on the misfortune that befell SWEET.It will,therefore,be difficult to know how exactly she feels.However,knowing how passionate she has always been about the betterment of everyone in Eswatini,she is disappointed that the project did not succeed in putting a lasting smile in the faces of its members.She is quite a strong leader and we have no reasons to think she has crumbled.She will soldier on with the other projects under her armbeat.She normally does not break her wings in life storms”,said the King’s Spokesperson.
Women across the country who invested on SWEET were disappointed this week after learning about the looting of their monies,the project was managed or facilitated by Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) Thulisile Dladla and former Central Bank Deputy Governor Sibongile Mdluli.
